• Swap the Cookie for a Healthy Smoothie

    If you’re a normal human being like us, once in a while our hand will get the urge to open that jar of cookie. This mostly happens during in-between meal time (or in our case when our clients aren’t looking!). But did you know that one cookie (Subway) has 165 calories in it? That’s like 8% of an average adult intake for a day. And come on, we never stop at one cookie do we?

    Some of you probably thought, “Hey, that’s not a lot. If I eat one cookie.”

    It’s true that the number isn’t really THAT high (well, yea one avocado is like 332 calories). But that, is just the calorie of the cookie. In case you pretended to be oblivious about it, cookie contains a lot of butter and sugar. And guess what? our body turns those two into fat. Yes, FAT!

    So ever wondered why your low calorie diet didn’t work out too well?

    So swap that cookie for a healthier filling snack which will keep you full and doesn’t stack up those fats. One of our favourite snack replacements is smoothies. And today, we are giving you a recipe with easy to find ingredients. Just hop on to your most reliable transport (or use a GOJEK if you must) and go to your nearest supermarket.

    Kiwi Strawberry Smoothie

    1 apple, cold (we prefer Granny Smith for that extra tang!)
    1 ripe banana, sliced
    1 piece kiwi, sliced
    5 strawberries, frozen
    honey (to taste)

    Directions

    Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth (add some coconut water or water if the blender gets stuck. But just enough to keep it going)

    87 calories, 0.3 g fat, 0 g saturated fat, 3.5 mg sodium, 22 g carbohydrates, 16.5 g sugars, 1.5 g fiber, 0.5 g protein
